So, what’s the best way to deal with it? There is a specific process we follow which allows us to get right to the point, in the shortest amount of time. Here's how we approach things:

• The first step is to get a clear picture of how much you owe to all of your suppliers and creditors. This includes all amounts owing to the Tax Office and Superannuation. This provides a ‘reality check’ and becomes the starting point for improvement.

• We also assess the financial position and performance of the business. Is it trading profitably or has it been losing money? We undertake a ‘business diagnostic’ and see what’s going on.

• We then identify what needs to change in order to get the business back on track. This typically covers the three core areas of the business, being Sales & Marketing, People & Operations and Admin and Finance.

• Agree the Action Plan with you and allocate responsibilities and accountabilities.
